In the afternoon of April 19th, Chair Professor Liu Yun, the Head of the Functional Materials Research Group at Australian National University, made a visit to Suzhou University of Science and Technology(SUST). Mr. Jiang Yong, Party Secretary of SUST, Mrs. Wu Huifang, Director of the International Office, Mrs. Shi Qinfen, Director of the Department of Scientific Research and Professor Li Changming met these guests in the Foreign Guest Reception Room of Administration Building.

Mr. Jiang Yong welcomed the visit of Professor Liu Yun and introduced the history, professional specialties and some foreign exchange programs of the SUST. Mr. Jiang also showed his willingness to establish bilateral ties and cooperate in scientific research and talents cultivation between the two universities . Professor Liu Yun gave a brief introduction of Australian National University and assured she would make efforts to promote mutual cooperation of the two universities.

Australian National University, which was founded in 1946, is located in Canberra, the capital of Australia, and is one of the top universities in the world. According to the 2016 QS World University Rankings, Australian National University ranked nineteenth in the world. There are 7 teaching academies, 4 national science institutions and a preparatory college in the University. More than 20000 students study there nowadays.
