On 29th November, Lan Mortimer, Vice President for Enrollment & Student Experience; John Mordaci, Director of Admissions; Sarah Gibson, Associate Director of Admissions & Coordinator of International Enrollment in Admissions and Sam Song, Director of English Language Institute and Office for Asia Pacific Rim Initiatives made a visit to Suzhou University of Science and Technology(SUST) together. Mr. Cui Zhiming, Vice President of SUST and Ms. Wu Huifang, Director of the International Office received these guests.

In the morning, Mr. Cui Zhiming, Vice President of SUST met these guests in the Foreign Guest Reception Room in the Administration Building. He welcomed the visit of American Nazareth College representatives and introduced the history, professional specialties and some foreign exchange programs of the SUST. Mr. Cui also expressed a great willingness to establish communication and cooperation between two universities. Mr. Cui suggested interaction in research team construction, scientific research cooperation and students cultivation. Mr. Lan Mortimer gave a brief introduction of the American Nazareth College. Then the two sides had a further discussion of the “3+2”joint training program for the two major programs of Preschool Education and English Teacher Education, ensuring the orderly progress of the project. After the meeting, the delegation visited school history exhibition hall in the library.

In the afternoon, Sam Song and Sarah Gibson made a Project presentations for students of Preschool Education and English Teacher Education and had some interaction with them. Then the delegation discussed with the teachers’ representatives in College of Education and Public Management. They had an in-depth discussion on teachers’ training and academic visits.

Nazareth College, founded in 1924, is located in Rochester, the third largest city of New York state. The College offers undergraduate, master and doctoral programs, covering the disciplines of education, health and human services, management, the fine arts, music, theater, math and science, foreign languages, and the liberal arts.
