Dear International Students,
As the New Year's Day holidays approach, we hope you can enjoy a pleasant and safe vacation. To ensure your personal safety and property security during the holiday, we would like to remind you of the following safety precautions:
I. Dormitory Safety
1. Lock up your dormitory properly: Before leaving the dormitory, please make sure to lock the door and windows tightly, especially the balcony door and the window facing the outside. Do not leave the door unlocked even for a short time to prevent theft.
2. Take good care of personal belongings: Do not leave valuables such as laptops, mobile phones, passports, and cash in obvious places in the dormitory. It is recommended to store them in locked drawers or cabinets. Do not lend your dormitory key to others at will.
3. Pay attention to electrical safety: Do not use prohibited electrical appliances (such as electric stoves, electric heaters, hair dryers with high power, etc.) in the dormitory to avoid fire hazards caused by overloading the circuit. Before leaving the dormitory, please turn off all electrical appliances and unplug the power plugs.
4 Keep the dormitory clean and tidy: Do not pile up flammable and explosive items (such as paper scraps, empty bottles, chemicals, etc.) in the dormitory. Dispose of garbage in a timely manner to maintain a safe living environment.
5. Prohibit dangerous behaviors: Do not smoke, drink excessively, or hold parties with a large number of people in the dormitory. Such behaviors may easily lead to fires, fights, or other safety accidents.
II. Outdoor Safety
1. Plan your trip in advance: If you plan to go out for traveling, visiting friends, or participating in celebrations, please make a detailed travel plan in advance. Inform your classmates, roommates, or teachers of your travel route, destination, and return time. Keep your mobile phone fully charged and ensure that it can be contacted at any time.
2. Choose safe transportation: When going out, please take legal and regular transportation vehicles (such as buses, subways, taxis, or official online car-hailing services). Do not take unlicensed vehicles, overloaded vehicles, or vehicles with obvious safety hazards. When taking public transportation, pay attention to protecting your personal belongings and avoid crowded places.
3. Abide by traffic rules: When walking on the road, please walk on the sidewalk and obey the traffic lights. Do not jaywalk or cross the road randomly. When riding a bicycle or electric bike, wear a safety helmet and do not ride against the direction of traffic.
4. Pay attention to the surrounding environment: When staying in hotels, visiting scenic spots, or going to crowded places (such as shopping malls, squares, etc.), please pay attention to the emergency exits and evacuation routes. Avoid staying in places with potential safety hazards (such as construction sites, dark alleys, etc.). If you find any suspicious persons or abnormal situations, please leave the scene immediately and call the police if necessary.
5. Protect personal information: Do not easily disclose your personal information (such as name, student ID, passport number, contact information, etc.) to strangers. Be wary of frauds such as fake lottery winning, fake bank calls, and fake campus notices. Do not easily believe in strangers' invitations or promises to avoid being deceived.
6. Pay attention to food safety: When dining out, please choose restaurants with complete license and good hygiene conditions. Do not eat food from unlicensed stalls or expired and deteriorated food to avoid food poisoning.
7. Control alcohol consumption: If you participate in New Year's celebrations and need to drink alcohol, please control the amount of alcohol and do not drink excessively. Drinking too much alcohol may affect your judgment and self-control, and easily lead to accidents such as falls, traffic accidents, or conflicts with others.
In case of any emergency or safety incident during the holiday, please call the police or ask for help in time:
Emergency Call: 110 (for public security incidents), 119 (for fire accidents), 120 (for medical emergencies)
