On November 8th, the closing ceremony of ‘2018 Training courses on Environmental Engineering Technology for Developing Countries’ and ‘2018 Training courses on Environmental Protection and Equipment Technology for Developing Countries’, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by Suzhou University of Science and Technology, was held in A2 lecture hall of School of Environmental Science and Engineering(SESE). 66 officials and technicians from 20 countries attended the closing ceremony.
Mr. Cai Runyuan, division director of AIBO, MOFCOM; Ms. Zhao Yuhong, division director of Department of Commerce of Jiangsu province; Ms. Wu Jie, division director of Suzhou Bureau of Commerce; Professor Cui Zhiming, vice president of Suzhou University of Science and Technology; Professor Li Yong, dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering; all participants and other relative personnel attended the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony was hosted by Ms. Wu Huifang, Director of International Office.
Speeches were made by Professor Cui Zhiming, on behalf of SUST to deliver his gratitude to the continuous support and attention from the Ministry of Commerce, Department of Commerce of Jiangsu province and Suzhou Bureau of Commerce and his congratulations to the participants for their successful completion of these two training courses. Munawar, participant representative from Pakistan and Hikmat from Azerbaijan, delivered speeches to express their gratitude to Chinese government and to SUST for offering them this great opportunity to learn the technology and experience in the field of environmental protection from China, and also expressed their willingness to apply what they’ve learned in China to helping their countries’ development and strengthening their friendship with China. Representing the sponsor, MOC, Mr. Cai Runyuan delivered a speech to conclude this closing ceremony by expressing his heartfelt thanks to everyone working hard to contribute to the success of these two training courses and his best wishes for the participants for their brighter future ahead. As he conveyed with a Chinese poem ‘a bosom friend afar, brings a distant land near’. ‘Though the time we shared together is limited, though the distance we have between our lands is far, I believe our friendship will be sincere, precious and long-lasting’.
At last, Professor Cui Zhiming and Mr. Cai Runyuan presented the certificates to all participants.
During the training courses, School of Environmental Science and Engineering invited the officials of Suzhou government and experts from both the inside and outside of our university to give lectures on the subject of sewage treatment technology, Chinese urban water environment governance, waste incineration and recycling technology, new technology on biological sewage treatment and etc. The training courses also included the introduction of Chinese language and Chinese economic development status-quo. Field trips were made to Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and etc.
