On April 14, the opening ceremony of “2017 Seminar on Water Treatment and Drinking Water Quality Control Systems for Sri Lanka”, sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, hosted by Suzhou University of Science and Technology, was held in A2 lecture hall of School of Environmental Science and Engineering. 20 environmental officers from Sri Lanka attended the seminar. The seminar lasted for 21 days from April 14th to May 4th. It was the 36th human resource training project organized by our university.
Huang Yong, deputy party secretary of Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Li Yong, Dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Wu Huifang, Director of International Office and all other participants attended the opening ceremony hosted by Mrs. Wu Huifang.
Deputy Party Secretary Huang Yong made a speech on behalf of our university first. Huang pointed that the SUST warmly welcomes the members of “2017 Seminar on Water Treatment and Drinking Water Quality Control Systems for Sri Lanka”. He introduced foreign aid programs and emphasized that the seminar will foster a positive effect in building a bridge of friendship between China and Sri Lanka.
Li Yong, Dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering, made a speech on behalf of teaching unit. He introduced the course of this seminar, the curriculum and the event planning. Also, he mentioned the seminar offered a precious opportunity for people of China and Sri Lanka to exchange cultures, improve understanding and establish friendship.
Gamage, a participant from Sri Lanka, made a speech on behalf of all members. First, he gave thanks to the seminar which was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and hosted by SUST. He then introduced the basic information about Sri Lanka, many cooperation projects of Sri Lanka with China and the deep relationship between the two countries. He expressed strong willingness to enhance Sino-Sri Lanka relationship.
Teachers and administration staff of this seminar also attended the opening ceremony.
